Pru Preston went to St Martins College of Art and gained her degree in Art & Design at Camberwell College of Art. Artistic talent runs in the family as her great grandfather, Sir Arthur Cope was painter to Queen Victoria.

From 1968 - 1975 Pru was a self employed Textile & Graphic Designer. She designed " CHUM " labels, also designed tea -towels and sold these designs to Macys Department Store, New York. She also designed textiles for Liberty's in London.

Shows: ‘Context’ 1984, Indigo in Lille 1985 - 1987.

Associations: Shoal of Brixham Artists.

In 1976 Pru became a professional mural and trompe l'oeil artist. The reason for this change was that Pru enjoys talking with clients direct and not through a middleman. Since then Pru has been commissioned for a great many murals encompassing both corporate and private work. Her murals range from painting trompe l'oeil windows for an 18th century house that was being converted into flats to painting a nasturtium around an up lighter.

Pru uses both oils, oil glazes and acrylics in her work and each piece is varnished for protection. Each commission is extensively discussed between herself and her client so that the client feels happy with the mural's progression.

Pru has great enthusiasm for her work and loves creating illusions out of reality.Commissions welcomed.
